Since 1923, Berks County residents have trusted us for their home’s heating, cooling, and fuel needs. Formerly EG Smith, our Sinking Spring office has been part of Rhoads Energy since 2009.

History of EG Smith

Founded in 1923, EG Smith Inc. evolved to meet its customers’ ever-growing needs. Over the years, they branched out from offering reliable fuel oil and propane delivery, to also providing fast emergency assistance, equipment repair, and installation of oil and gas furnaces and boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, humidifiers, and air cleaners. In 2009, EG Smith became part of the Rhoads Energy Family of Companies.

We recently had a new boiler installation that went very well. The salesman Matt quickly assessed our needs and got us the right new unit for our application, and the installers Andy and Dan were very professional, prompt, and efficient. The work was completed to a high standard and I’m very happy with the end product. I’ve been using EG Smith for a few years for all heating and cooling needs, and I’d recommend them to anyone.

I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received. Obviously reasonable and affordable pricing were at the top of my list, but the thoroughness of explaining what we were getting to installation and follow-up, my expectations were exceeded. The icing on the cake was several days after installation there was an issue, which ended up being non-related, but after contacting them they were at my front door within 20 minutes. Michelle was wonderful in sending someone out immediately!

That being said, they have definitely earned our business. We will be dropping our current oil supplier/vendor and happily becoming EG customers.

We discovered a problem with our old system just before the weather turned very hot and humid, and we were able to review, purchase, and have the system installed before the weather turned very hot! I highly recommend E.G. Smith and its employees.
